New Space & New Work

I’ve been in my new work space for a few weeks now and I’m making some headway on my fountain painting. It’s slow going with all the little details and me being a perfectionist and all, but its coming along.

I’ve also just started working on another little oil painting. A sphinx guarding the bones of her victims.

Just the first layer down at the moment, blocking in the figure and sketching in the hand and buried skull. I usually hate sketching during the painting process, but I find my self doing it a lot lately, and strangely it doesn’t bother me anymore, which is very much a good thing.

I was feeling a different colour palette for this one, something softer. It’s a nice change from all the dark greens, blues and burgundy of my previous paintings.
